What is an automated webinar and how can it help you grow your team without picking up the phone?

An automated webinar is simply a really cool pre-recorded online presentation that you can share with people around the world.

You teach. You add value. You help people.

Sounds good right?

The only difference is that you are not there live- hosting every single presentation.

Personally, I prefer to be at every event live, hug my audience, take selfies, and more.

But with only 24 hours in a day, that was very limiting.

Then one day I walked into a bookstore and realized I was willing to read a book and learn from an author even if they weren’t there in person.

So why would my automated online events be any different?

Finally, I let go of my limiting beliefs and started offering an automated webinar.

My audience was so grateful! They absolutely loved it.

They appreciated that they could choose a time that worked for their personal schedule and that they would no longer feel like they were missing out on everything because they were living in another time zone.

I went from teaching and presenting to a small group once a week, to teaching and educating people in 40+ countries 24 hours a day.

Thank goodness for automated webinars and how they helped me scale my business without burning me out!

How to use an automated webinar to build your team without picking up the phone:

Can you imagine only talking to people who are interested in joining your organization or promoting your products/services?

The old way of making this happen is by being a little snobby and prejudging people.

No offense but you know what I mean….

Only talking to people who you think will say yes to joining your team because you want to avoid rejection or an awkward sales call.

The crazy part is that many times those people we were sure that were “perfect” for our team, end up saying NO anyways.

Thankfully there is a better way!

With automated webinars you can repel people who are not right to work with you and attract those people who are looking for exactly what you have to offer without even getting on the phone with them.

Let’s break it down.

I personally love it and I’m addicted to it.

I can’t imagine ever going back to exhausting networking events or following up with people who refuse to answer the phone.

Instead, I can help people around the world- even while I sleep.

Fortunately, you can too.

I’ve heard some people say that they feel super awkward and weird when it’s time to sell on their webinars.

They either worry about selling something right after teaching for free or claim that they are experts at what they do and that they are not experts in selling.

I’ve been asked before…… “Can’t I just pay someone to sell and I just show up and add tons of value?!

Whether you are a coach, sell e-courses, or have a network marketing team………

Here’s why that won’t work:

Without teaching others you have no real way of qualifying your customers.

In other words, if people love your free stuff, then they will also love your paid stuff.

The same is true for the opposite. If someone is not thrilled with your free training, then you save yourself the customer service headache of working with people who are not interested in joining you.

Unfortunately, there are times when people would be a good fit to work with you but they just don’t know it yet. 

Whether your webinar was too short, too long, or poorly promoted isn’t it at all.

There are key ways to teaching what you love while also inviting others to continue working with you

You don’t have to sit there hyperventilating because you don’t want to sell at the end of the webinar anymore.

Instead, learn what works!

Evergreen webinars vs live webinars

What I love about teaching online is that you can do it live as many times as you want.

However, if people want to join you live they must hope that your event schedule works for them, that they do not get interrupted, and/or that you hopefully offer one again if they were not available.

I’ve had thousands of people join me at once for live webinars and they were very successful.

But they were limited to my availability and only to people who could be present on those certain days/times.

Not fair right?

Think about it this way….

I didn’t want to wake up a working mom in Spain at 3am because I insisted on having a live webinar!

On the other hand, my automated webinars allowed my audience members around the world to select a time that worked for them to watch my pre-recorded evergreen webinar.

Why people aren’t buying from you now:

This morning I was looking at my autoresponder with googly eyes and just sat there with appreciation. (Is that a real word? Anyways…)

I remember when it was just a few friends who loved my blog that were subscribed. It was nice to have support but it wasn’t leading to sales.

Once I started building my list with people who needed what I have to offer (and weren’t constantly asking for a family discount of 100%), my business started to grow.

And then it happened… someone unsubscribed!! The horror!

What did I do wrong? Why would they leave?!

After a useless pity party, I realized why people would not buy from me and why they would unsubscribe.

It’s not personal. It’s not a sign that you suck at what you do.

Instead, here is why they decided to go another direction (and keep reading because I’m going to tell what to do about it):

  • You are so good at what you do and you taught them so well that they are ready to move on to another coach that can help them at another level. (It’s OK if your audience outgrows you)
  • What you teach is no longer a priority in their lives for whatever reason. (Maybe they don’t want that solution anymore- no matter how much they need it)
  • Your message did not resonate with them and their values. (Sometimes you connect on the “how” but not the “why” or vice versa.)

All of this only means ONE thing- The people who need what you have to offer are still out there.

Fussing over who left only distracts you from serving who is coming your way.

Take those “unsubscribes” as a badge of honor- a mini graduation from your general content and move on to helping others.

Despite people unsubscribing from my list, I still have over 40,000 people that have raised their hand and said I want to learn from you lady boss. 

And you can too. 

You don’t have to stand at a stop light with a sign in order to get the attention of your ideal customer. (If you really want to, I won’t judge.) 

The best way to keep your business vibrant and growing is by always having new people learning from you, attending your online workshops, and getting to know you.

The most effective way to do so is via webinars!

Whether you have tried hosting one or not, they must be integrated into your marketing plan if you are committed to sharing your message with the world, building a reputable brand, and filling up your programs. 

Webinars work no matter what you are promoting- e-courses, coaching, consulting, network marketing, live events, and physical products.

How I turned a horrible webinar into a 6 figure business

Ever had something that looked so good on paper turn out to be a very bad idea?

Perhaps it was a launch, a webinar, a sales page, or even a hair cut.

No matter what it is, it can be crippling if you let it keep you from taking future risks.

I should know- I’ve mastered failing forward.

Let me share a personal failure with you.

During my very first webinar that I hosted years ago, I was so afraid to sell that well….I didn’t!

I told people about my program so quickly that I sounded like the narrator at the end of a pharmaceutical commercial (you know that random voice that shows up to tell you all of those scary side effects).

In my opinion, it was a total mess.

Somehow it just didn’t matter to…. one person.

I still made a sale!

Can you believe it?

At first, I was mad because I only made a sale but after a quick reality check in the mirror, I knew I was lucky I helped a person at all.

You see that program I was promoting (which is still very popular today) was going to help people in such a tremendous way that I could barely sleep wondering how to get it to the right people- faster.

That’s when it hit me.

No matter how bad I was at “selling”, as long as I added value to the right people the following could happen:

-I could never say the wrong thing to the right person

-I would inevitably improve and get better with practice

-Being genuine was always more important than being salesy.

Thank God I didn’t know how to sell!

My epic “failure” turned out to be a blessing in disguise that helped my brand stand out in a crowded marketplace where people were happy & comfortable to work with me and join my programs.

Fast forward to today, I have accepted that selling is serving and that I was selling all along.

Funny how life works sometimes right?

No matter how shy I was about it, by serving I was, in my own way, inviting people to keep working with me.

But as much as I would love to solely build my business on warm fuzzy feelings and “aha” moments, I needed a plan (because one sale was not going to cut it if I wanted to make a significant difference).

That’s where my epic planning kicked in.

I planned how I was going to show up and serve in my marketplace.

I planned how I could help people and grow a successful business doing more.

Maybe you’ve had a plan too and didn’t go well.

I get it.

Life isn’t perfect. Life happens.

Maybe you had a rough year. I’ve been there.

But I didn’t stay there.

I learned to fail forward. In other words, mess up, learn from it, then earn from it by improving.

So let’s get you back on track to an epic year.

Now it’s time for you to plan your work so you can work your plan.

No seriously…..

There are way too many people out there who need what we have to offer for any one of us to keep our business secrets to ourselves.

I was coaching a client that lives in Puerto Rico yesterday and she was telling me how well our sessions were going and all the new clients she had gotten.

Not only was I proud of her but…..

All I could think about were all the amazing people with great talent that are wasting it away on canva.com trying to create 1,000 new images to get their ideal clients’ attention.

Don’t get me wrong. I love a good brand as much as the next girl.

But lets be clear.

Unless you know how to turn that brand into bank- you’re stuck.

People who are stuck tend to feel stressed.

And stressed out people tend to be spammy.

So if you are sharing a lot of links, writing a lot of emails, sharing a lot of videos, and creating a ton of social media posts that are leading nowhere, it’s time to learn what works.

I’ll give you a hint…
