Hey there!

I am writing to you from the sunny Dominican Republic where we are having a fabulous time mixing business with pleasure.

And well… It’s my pleasure to be in business. 😉

One of the things that I love about being in business is that you can learn from each other.

In school, copying someone else or asking for too much help was called cheating. In business, learning from others is called masterminding.

If you’re like me and you like to learn from the success of others, this How She Did It series is for you.

The purpose of this series is to give you access and insights to female entrepreneurs who in 8 brief answers will let you learn from their businesses and mindset.

Today’s guest is a total lady boss who has worked with me in the past. She has taken what she learned to new heights. Whether it’s appearing on TV regularly or making it look easy to balance work and family, Alexandra is the perfect person to show you how to have it all.

How Alexandra Ramirez Did It:

Please share with us what you do and who your business helps.

I am a money and business coach. I am the financial expert of “Despierta America” of Univision, the #1 show among Hispanics in US. Through my financial segments, I empower millions of latinos be financially educated and live a debt free life. I am the creator of the only financial movement for latinas #financiallyfitlatina to help them build a strong financial foundation.

I am committed to educating women on how to become financially empowered and successful, and help them to become business owners, increase income and build different streams of income.

How did you go from “idea” to an online business?

I first had the idea of creating a financial platform where I could write about money, budget tips, and share all my financial knowledge. And that’s where it all started. I started going to blogger and entrepreneurship conferences, and I discovered the fascinating and lucrative online world of business to create my brand and financial empire.

In your opinion, what is a hard-to-spot pitfall that is critical to avoid in entrepreneurship?

Many people underestimate the process of learning before having a successful business and all that it requires. They feel overwhelmed and abandon their start up . They should start by breaking down the big goal into smaller tasks, take action and be consistent no matter what. You need to have discipline to stay motivated and many hours of work to have a successful business.

In your opinion, what was the #1 thing that helped you experience a breakthrough in business?

When I was called by the #1 hispanic TV show to collaborate as their financial expert. My life changed completely! It was a dream come true. My passion for empowering others through financial literacy was coming to life.

What is one thing you’ve told yourself that kept you going during your darkest hour?

Pursuing my dream and become a business owner. I spent many hours on my computer while still working at my 9-5 job. I worked at night after dinner, after work, at 5 am, after my family went to bed, at any time. I couldn’t just abandon my dream of building my financial business and helping people.

What’s your best advice for entrepreneurs who are frustrated and overwhelmed?

My best advice for entrepreneurs is to focus on their niche and become the expert with their brand. Don’t worry about failure, this is how we learn to succeed. Create a to-do list everyday, have an agenda and complete your tasks. Don’t forget about your finances! Make a budget and separate your business money from your personal finances. Last, network and network! Make connections all along the way and ask for their advice and help when you needed.

What are your favorite tools and resources that make your life easier and keep your business running smoothly?

I love having planners to stay organized and focused. Most people asked how I optimize the 24 hours of my day, work and attend so many events. I use two planners, one for my personal and family life and one for my business. I create daily to-do lists, I separate urgent from important tasks and I use my smart phone for almost everything! I love listening to music while I work. I use canva for the visual content I create myself and I use google docs for business documents.

To conclude, what is one thing you would like to share with my audience to inspire them to go for new goals?

I would like to share with your audience that I am blessed to have found you and had you as my business coach! You are special and have become a good friend to me. You are always there when I need an advice and empower me to do more and become more.

Thanks for helping me build my financial diva empire!
