smAs a woman in business for over 30 years I come to you at a place of rebirth.

It was early last year. I was at the end of my rope owning my Business.

Ready to sell. I didn’t know what was next, but I was no stranger to that.

In a dinner conversation, I was speaking with a new lady friend name Beverly. I was sharing some long dreams and new goals with her. One goal, I want to be a writer, the other I wanted to be a speaker.

She looked at me and said “I know you will do this”. She invited me to be her VIP guest at a Speaker Summit. “VIP guest”! I  said to myself, how can you say no to that!  I wasn’t exactly sure what I was signing up for, but VIP, I was in.

I went to the  “Thriving Speaker Summit” with Caterina Rando as Beverly guest.

I was way out of my comfort zone, again no stranger to that.

After the summit, I had a follow up conversation with Caterina. She helped me get clear on what my next steps where going to be. I signed up to be a Co-Author in a book she was publishing called “Business Success with Ease” My Chapter was on “How to get unstuck and know your worth”. Perfect topic for me, as I have gotten unstuck  many times.

Being involved with this book did just that for me.

I jumped back into my business. following my advice in my chapter and was on my way to loving what I did again.

I continued to work with Caterina as a coach on other interests. I’ve also hired a few other mentors and coaches whom have helped me achieve some of my other goals.

I recently sold one of my businesses. Still owning my main business, where I am going into my 21st year! I now coach people in my industry. I’m creating online programs so I can help people all over the world.

I was a super young single mother. No back round education. Zero role models. But that never stopped me from achieving what I was after.

My advice is to never give up.

Here are some habits and strategies that are important as a leader and roll model.

Keep it moving, I started practicing Bikram Yoga about five years ago.

What practicing yoga has done for me is, created the ability within me to not react to life, but rather be comfortable in it.

I’ve not shared the industry I’m in yet, I own a Hair Salon with 20 stylist. Working with many beautiful lady souls can be challenging at times.

It is important to find our peace within us. I’ve also worked on many of my limited beliefs that no longer serve me.

Work harder on yourself. One of my favorite quotes

“Work harder on yourself than you do on your job.” – Jim Rohn

Get the proper help needed.

Write out a new plan if needed. Every day, heck every second we have the opportunity to start over. If something isn’t working, change it immediately even if you just started it.

When something is working, look and see how it could work even better.

I like to change things up to create excitement for our team.

I find you will have less of a turn over in employees if you keep the needs of your team met, keep them happy. Get to know who each individual’s are. It is ok to build a relationship around each persons goals.

To many times I see people get stuck on being black and white on the way they want things ran. I have not found that to be efficient for my business.

Use your intuitions. Remove people who are not capable of executing your plan.

Take care of yourself when you need to! Get plenty of rest and pack your lunches. I feel it is very important to eat right so you can generate the proper energy.

Be the person you want to work for.

“Be the change you wish to see in the world” Gandhi

“You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great.” Les Brown
