This blog post is all about webinars.
You see back when I started my business, things were hectic…in a not-so-good way.
I was running around working a lot for very little results.
Thankfully, I learned that there is a better way to grow your business without losing your mind in the process.
And it’s no surprise that webinars played a huge role in my success.
Webinars, online workshops, masterclasses, or however you want to refer to them, allow me to train hundreds and even thousands of people at a time and grow my business to have clients in over 20 countries.
Think about it.
Rather than meeting everyone in person or one-on-one, I get to add value to people all around the world. In turn, my audience is not limited to learn from me when they see me in person either.

We are all limited by 24 hours in a day and must leverage the power of webinars so that you can present to more of the right people at the same time so that you can focus on the part of the business that you love- sharing your expertise.
It works for my audience and it works for me. Even after a decade of using webinars, they still work!
So why don’t webinars work for everyone else too? I’ve heard others ask this before.
Webinars are not meant to be a get-rich-quick strategy. There is an art to them.
Without the proper recipe for success, anything is bound to fail.
Makes sense right?

What are webinars and why they are great to market your business:
Webinars are a great way to teach, educate, and entertain your potential customers or already paying customers with your expertise online.
By hosting webinars, I have been able to showcase my expertise and teaching style. Even though I hosted it to promote my online business, it resulted in a lot more.
I have been invited to speak around the world, I have been quoted in large media publications, I have client referrals from industry experts, and so much more.
When you add value and show you can help people rather than just saying you can in your bio, it is a game changer.
Can you imagine all the endless ways you can attract great opportunities for your business by adding tons of value?
What I also love about webinars is that they can be used in a variety of ways whether paid or free.
PAID on-demand workshops allow you to get an income now and start developing a system for customer service, get familiar with the tech involved, position yourself as an expert by changing, stand out from all the free and low value content out there, and help you attract the most qualified and serious prospects to follow you online.
FREE on-demand workshops allow you to add value before you sell, build your email list quickly, reach more people (even those who aren’t quick familiar with you and wouldn’t be as ready to buy from you asap),provide a risk-free way to learn from you, offer your programs and services after adding value inspires reciprocity from participants, and you might just personally like it more and feel less salesy.
To grow my business, I promote 98% of my webinars as free events and my main goal is to add tons of value so that people get a sense of what it would be like to work with me.
But when you are selling e-courses or coaching it can feel tricky to figure out whether you are giving away “too much” or not adding enough value.
Click here to learn more about evergreen webinars now.
If people do not get enough value they might feel like you wasted their time but if they get “too much value” you might feel like they are not motivated enough to buy from you now.
Here is a great way to feel more comfortable with what you share on webinars:
During your free webinars and online events focus on sharing the “what” and the “why” with others.
In your paid programs, products, or services, focus on delivering the results and sharing the “how” as you coach.
Putting this into practice can be tricky at first. But remember the most important thing- helping someone.
Most people are on my webinars because they need support and not to show up and criticize me like I am a reality TV star.
So when you feel stressed about yourself and your performance remember to be generous and focus on changing lives.
Our customers are always our top priority.
That is why I am sharing with you all these tips so you can build your business with webinars the right way.
How to build your list with webinars:
Perhaps you’ve tried taking action but haven’t seen the results you want…..
You know what I mean!
You’ve tried building your list, growing your brand, and trying to fill up your programs but you’re not “there” yet.
So…. in hopes of trying to catch the latest “trick” in the industry you sit back in fan mode and wait to see if someone does something different.

You buy some more books and show up to some extra webinars only to feel that:
- You’ve seen this before but it’s not working for you- ugh
- You tried it and didn’t work for you so you’re waiting for the gurus to come up with a new “trick” to see if that one will stick
- You see others succeed so fast that you almost see it as a sign that it’s not for you
Pretty crappy situation right?
You want results. You deserve to see results.
But before I show you what to do you must flip the switch.
You must go from fan to follower.
You don’t want to be a fan. You want to be a follower.
A fan is just there to clap and be amused. A follower models success and takes action!
In other words, you are committing to not only learn what works but that you are actually going to do it.
If you’re not ready to take action, I can totally respect that! Have a fabulous day.
On the other hand, if you want to change the lives of your ideal clients and build your dreams in the process- I hear you and I’m here to show you how to make it happen.
**In a dream I would be saying this into a pink blinged out microphone while wearing some glitter outfit with a very quiet fan magically blowing my hair in the wind for added drama.**
OK I’m probably never going to do that but I wanted to change your state.
You see… talking about success can be a touchy thing for a lot of people- they get tense, defensive, and even a little awkward.
I’m not here to play lawyer and convince you that you too can win in business and life.
I am here to show you how to win in life by living out your purpose so that you can get to it already.
We were born in the best time in history to be an entrepreneur and change the world!
So before you get huffy and puffy about it remember that back in the day people got their message around by riding donkeys or relying on pigeons.
*insert gratitude here for webinars!!**
Makes you feel better doesn’t it?

Don’t leave people in suspense after your webinar! Follow up with value, give them a chance to keep learning from you, and grow your business.
The average person sees 2,000+ social media posts a day and gets 50 emails per day.
Would you rather be one of 2,000 or 1 of 50?
Why not both?!
Remember what Zig Ziglar taught us: “You will get all you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want.”
Therefore, the next time you host a webinar, go ahead and make sure that you ask people to register (rather than just giving them a link or a zoom id).
The most costly mistake people can make in their business is not to build their email list.
By having them register, you are able to follow up, share the replay with them, add more value, and be available to answer their questions.
If they ever want to opt out of getting info from you, they are able to unsubscribe. It is absolutely normal and common so don’t get stressed out if anyone unsubscribes!
Two great tools you can use are:
–Webinar Jam
–Zoom.Us
And to store all of the emails that people register with, I use ConvertKit. Check it out here.
If you want to practice your webinars, feel free to go live on social media and practice telling your story with others and adding tons of value.
How to market your webinars to your ideal clients:
If you haven’t been properly trained to promote your online business- that may not be your fault.
These aren’t exactly skills we learn in grade school.
If you’re like me you were taught to go to school, get good grades, and hopefully one day you will get a good job.
So when we start to build a business and don’t have everything we need to succeed handed to us, we panic and think something is wrong with us.
That is not the case.
You can do this.
You can grow an international business from your laptop.
How to sell your coaching and e-courses with webinars:
I’ve heard some people say that they feel super awkward and weird when it’s time to sell on their webinars.
They either worry about selling something right after teaching for free or claim that they are experts at what they do and that they are not experts in selling.
I’ve been asked before…… “Can’t I just pay someone to sell and I just show up and add tons of value?!”
Whether you are a coach, sell e-courses, or have a network marketing team………
Here’s why that won’t work:
Without teaching others you have no real way of qualifying your customers.
In other words, if people love your free stuff, then they will also love your paid stuff.
The same is true for the opposite. If someone is not thrilled with your free training, then you save yourself the customer service headache of working with people who are not interested in joining your programs.
Unfortunately, there are times when people would be a good fit to work with you but they just don’t know it yet.
Whether your webinar was too short, too long, or poorly promoted isn’t it at all.
There are key ways to teaching what you love to also invite others to continue learning from you.
You don’t have to sit there hyperventilating because you don’t want to sell at the end of the webinar anymore.
You can simply ask them for permission.
“I love adding value to you all. Is it OK if I share with you a way that we can keep working together beyond our class tonight?”
It is a quick question that gives people implied permission to hop off the call if they are done and others the validation that you are available to keep helping them after the call.
There are plenty of strategies to transition from teaching to sales during a webinar. But with all the nerves people may have while presenting, I say keep it simple.
Just ask.
I find that the content in the webinar or masterclass typically attracts the right people and repels the wrong people.
In other words, if people don’t want the free stuff, they won’t even want the paid stuff.

Your webinar will help you weed out those who are not interested and save you a ton of rejection based on the person’s needs that has nothing to do with you or your offer.
But more importantly, you will help people, help them get clarity, show them they are not alone, and all while giving them a path to the solutions they desire.
How to make automated sales online with webinars:
Everyone wants to learn how to make sales in your sleep and my answer to that is always webinars.
Unfortunately, recording an automated webinar does not guarantee sales.
So here is what I recommend….
Host several live webinars….. As many as it takes to get to know your audience, improve on your messaging, and feel more confident.
This requires the ego to go down so the sales can go up.
I know how hard I work on my slides and I want to think they are perfect the day I present.
But no matter how I feel, I can see one thing- sales!
Who cares how I felt about it! If my ideal clients watched the webinar but didn’t buy, then I need to figure out why and try again.
One quick tip I have for you is to take screenshots of all the questions that came in while you were presenting.
If several people were asking the same question, then that means there is a gap in my presentation.
So I make sure to answer that question in detail the next time I host the webinar (which can literally be the next day) and see how people react to it.
Quick story.. One day I hosted a webinar and when I went to upload the replay to share with those who registered, the sound was terrible.
Instead of being embarrassed, I offered to host it again.
Not only did I get a chance to improve it but I did not let a tech headache hold me back from sharing what I love.
So let’s assume that you tested your presentation and you know that it converts into sales when people watch it (notice I said watch and not just register for fun).
Meaning, for every 100 people who watch it, you make 1-10 sales in your business.
You can literally wake up to sales for your coaching program.
You can wake up to sales for your e-course and info product without needing to burn out with lengthy and tiresome launches.
Automating webinars has allowed me to grow my email list, add value before I sell, and automate sales.
This is also especially useful for other niches like physical products, network marketing, and even affiliate marketing.
It allows you to grow your business, position yourself as an expert in your niche, and promote your business without the constant exhaustion of 1 on 1 meetings.
Don’t get me wrong…
I loooove talking to people. The right people that is.
So once I know someone has seen the content, knows this is a good fit for them, and needs further support- that is easier to add to my calendar than just making myself available to anyone and everyone.
We only have 24 hours in a day and I love to use mine for my family, my business, my team members, our Foundation, and more.
The key is to just get started!
People what you have to offer and you can have it all now.
The rest is up to you to decide if you will go for it!
I am here if you would like support along the way- feel free to reach out!
